Information we collect
Depending on how you use POWERPPV, we may process your name, organisation, email address, telephone number, account and login information, event information, viewer or ticket-holder details, purchase and transaction references, payment status, refund and dispute information, support communications, live-chat content, technical logs, IP address, device/browser information and security records.
We do not need to store full card numbers or card security codes when payments are processed by our payment providers.
Why we use personal information
We use personal information to create and administer accounts; provide live streams, tickets and viewer access; process or reconcile payments; prevent fraud and unauthorised access; provide customer support; administer refunds and disputes; maintain platform security; comply with legal, accounting and tax obligations; improve and operate the service; and send service communications.
Our lawful bases
Depending on the activity, we rely on performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and securing POWERPPV, and consent where consent is required, such as for certain marketing or non-essential cookies. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the impact on the people concerned.
Event Organisers and viewer data
Event Organisers may use POWERPPV to sell or provide access to their events. For some processing, the Event Organiser determines why viewer information is used and POWERPPV processes it to provide the platform. For other activities, including operating POWERPPV, platform security, fraud prevention, legal compliance and our own transaction records, POWERPPV may act as a controller in its own right.
Event Organisers must only use viewer/customer information lawfully and in accordance with these Terms, applicable data-protection law and their own privacy obligations.
Payments and Stripe
POWERPPV uses payment providers including Stripe for payment services. If an Event Organiser chooses self-managed payments, customer payments can be processed through that organiser's connected Stripe account and the organiser manages its own payouts, refunds, disputes and payment activity. POWERPPV's commission for that route is 10% unless otherwise agreed.
If an Event Organiser chooses POWERPPV-managed payments, POWERPPV manages the payment administration, refunds and organiser withdrawal process and the POWERPPV commission is 15% unless otherwise agreed. Payment processors may process additional information under their own privacy terms.
Who we share information with
We may share information where necessary with payment processors, streaming/video infrastructure providers, hosting and security providers, email or communications providers, professional advisers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies where legally required, and Event Organisers where necessary to deliver an event or deal with a customer request.
We require service providers handling personal data for us to protect that information appropriately.
International processing
Some suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps intended to ensure an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism and safeguards are in place where required.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing accounts and event access, handling disputes, preventing fraud, maintaining security and meeting legal, tax and accounting requirements. Different records may therefore have different retention periods. When information is no longer required, it is deleted, anonymised or placed beyond normal use where appropriate.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, receive certain data in a portable format and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a request, email info@powerppv.com. We may need to verify your identity. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Security and breaches
We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Suspected personal-data breaches are assessed and, where required by law, reported to the appropriate regulator and affected individuals.
Marketing
Service messages about an account, purchase, event, payment or security are not marketing. Where consent or another lawful basis is required for direct marketing, we will use the appropriate basis and provide a way to opt out. Event Organisers are responsible for ensuring their own marketing use of customer information is lawful.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as POWERPPV develops or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with its update date.
